Why we built it
Most invoicing apps are built for one country and one language. Freelancers who work across borders end up with Word templates, invoice numbers counted by hand and no clear idea which tax note a foreign client needs. BillPigeon is the app we wanted instead: pick your country once and the app sets the currency, tax labels, paper size, required details and legal wording for you.
What it does
Invoices, estimates and credit notes, each with its own numbering series. Numbers are assigned by the server when a document is issued, in order and without gaps, and issued documents can never be edited or deleted.
Country rules from data: 14 countries with their own tax rates, tax treatments (EU reverse charge, exports, small-business schemes) and reviewed legal notes.
Your client's language: the app runs in 8 languages and invoices print in 10, each with an optional second language for bilingual invoices.
A mobile app for iPhone and Android: the dashboard, invoice editor, send sheet and payments all work on the phone, offline too. Most invoices are made on site, so the phone app does everything the web app does.
Send anywhere: email the PDF, or share a secure link by WhatsApp, SMS or any app. The link page shows when the client viewed it, lets them download the PDF and accept and sign an estimate online.
A client portal: each client gets one private link to all their open invoices and a running statement, in their own language, with a CSV download.
Get paid: full and part payments, refunds and PDF receipts; bank details on every invoice and an EPC payment QR code on EU invoices in euros.
Works offline on the phone: drafts, clients and payments sync when the connection comes back.
Your data stays yours: CSV exports, a full-account ZIP export and account deletion on every plan.
How it's built
A Laravel 13 API and web app with a Filament customer area and back office, and a Flutter app for iPhone and Android that keeps a local SQLite database and syncs through an outbox. Money is stored as integers in minor units and every tax calculation follows one written specification; the PHP and Dart engines both run against the same shared test fixtures, so the phone and the server always agree on a total. PDFs are rendered by Gotenberg (A4 or US Letter, PDF/A), email goes through Postmark, and subscriptions run through the App Store, Google Play and Stripe, kept in step by RevenueCat.
Plans
A free plan forever (5 documents a month), and BillPigeon Pro with unlimited documents, all templates and your own branding, with a 7-day free trial. Credit notes, data export and account deletion are never behind a paywall.
