The idea
A cash book is the oldest bookkeeping tool there is: money in, money out, and a balance after every line. Expenseum puts that on your phone, then adds what paper can't do: search, budgets, receipt scanning, charts, reports, backups, and books you can share.
We built Expenseum as our own product. We designed, engineered, shipped and still run it, on the App Store and Google Play.
Offline first, account optional
Every book lives in a database on the user's own device, so the app works on a plane, on the metro or with no signal at all. Nobody has to sign up to start. Signing in is only needed for the parts that have to be shared: split books, collaboration and the community forum. Backups go to the device and to the user's own Google Drive, with dated restore points.

- Fast entry by typing, voice ("spent 250 on fuel today") or receipt scanning with on-device text recognition
- Budgets and savings goals with early warnings, deadlines and logging streaks
- Split books for trips, flatshares and dinners: split equally, by exact amounts, by percent or by shares, with one payer or several
- Collaboration with a partner, accountant or co-founder, live sync, and a 30-day recycle bin
- Recurring entries, templates and custom fields for rent, salary, subscriptions, invoices and vehicles
- Insights: cashflow, spending forecast, net worth, debt payoff, a subscription tracker and a yearly "Wrapped"
- CSV import, plus CSV and PDF reports for any date range
Expensight AI
An assistant that answers plain-language questions in any of the 13 languages, using the user's own entries, and can log transactions for them. Users choose its access level (read-only, log only, or full), and every change needs their approval unless they turn that off. If someone never opens it, none of their book data is sent for AI processing.
Built for everywhere
Fully translated into 13 languages, including right-to-left Arabic and Urdu. Expenseum has light and dark themes and adapts to iOS and Android conventions, so it feels native on iPhone, iPad and Android alike. There are no third-party ad SDKs, and the business model is a free core plus an optional Expenseum Plus subscription billed through the store
